Any Old Iron? Viridian Liquid Iron

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

You all know about my struggle with hair loss if you don't you can check out my post here, i've been trying out a lot of remedies this past year, some have been completely useless and some I believe have really aided in stopping the hair full I was experiencing. I started taking Liquid Iron six months ago and have noticed a change in my overall health [goodbye unexplained fatigue] I started to take it because like many women I suffer from a VERY heavy menstrual flow [wide set vagina and a heavy flow lol] and my doctor said this might have some effect on my hair, due to a lack of iron causing the body to go into 'survival mode' and so oxygen is used for vital organs [these not being your hair follicles]

"women should receive about 10 mg of iron daily, menstruating or nursing women 15 mg, and pregnant women 30 mg daily"

I was offered Iron supplements from my doctor, however I preferred to looked for a natural alternative, staring with my diet

Iron-rich foods include:
dark-green leafy vegetables, such as watercress and curly kale
iron-fortified cereals or bread
brown rice
pulses and beans
nuts and seeds
white and red meat
dried fruit, such as dried apricots, prunes and raisins

I already include much of these foods into my diet, so when I found Veridian had a 100% Organic liquid iron supplement I was happy to try it.

"100% Organic Liquid Iron contains a unique, fully-certified organic source of iron extracted from Murraya koenigii leaves. Together with standardised extracts from Guava, Lemon and Amla to provide guaranteed levels of vitamins B and C. With Seagreens® organic arctic wrack seaweed, acerola, nettle, dandelion, honey and orange oil. 100% Organic Liquid Iron is pleasant-tasting and suitable for all the family, including during pregnancy and breast-feeding, for children, the elderly, the highly active, vegetarians and convalescents. Non-constipating. Iron is essential for the healthy production of haemoglobin and red blood cells. Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and contributes to normal cognitive function"

Viridian liquid Iron tastes like oranges, it does have strange taste and is supper thick, I would say it's unpleasant but it's not the most amazing thing i've ever put in my mouth, I've been taking two spoons per day for the last 6 months and have noticed a difference in my tiredness, I can't say for sure but I have been noticing my hair fall has decreased though I'm sure this is not solely to do with my iron intake.
